Exhibition — The Du Boulay Collection

Who: From the early kilns of the Han Dynasty, to riots in Rotterdam, this exhibition features over 20 ceramic pieces donated to Winchester College by Anthony du Boulay (C, 1943–46), the pieces specifically chosen by the donor to compliment Winchester's Duberly Collection, on permanent display in Gallery 2 of the Treasury. Du Boulay passed away in early 2022.

What: An exhibition in the Winchester College Treasury, including: multiple Chinese ceramics, such as a 'hill jar', a pouring bowl, a coffee pot, a marriage bowl, and a 'zhadou'; a Dutch delftware bottle; and an 18th-century watercolour of Chinese boatmen.

When: Until the 1st of April, 2022, 14:00–16:00 (M,T,W,T,F,S,S) - there is no need to book.

Where: Winchester College Treasury (Gallery 1) Why: If a large gallery of Chinese porcelain appears at first daunting, then this exhibition is ideal: it distills some unique insights into both Chinese and Delftware porcelain into only a few objects. It also provides an opportunity to see William Alexander's watercolour of Chinese boatmen in person.

How: You can learn more about visiting here: treasury.winchestercollege.org/museum-individual-tours-.
